ISEPS Global Ophthalmology Foundation

The Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons is proud to announce the creation of the ISEPS Global Ophthalmology Foundation (IGOF).  Its purpose is to support programs and efforts to expand the availability and the quality of medical, surgical and vision care throughout the world.

Organization

The IGOF is managed by a volunteer board of directors.  The founding officers and directors are:

• Vice President - R.V. Paul Chan, MD; Chicago, IL
• Secretary-Treasurer - Richard H. Paul; Vernon Hills, IL
• At-large Director - Sohail Hasan, MD PhD; Orland Park, IL
• At-large Director - Marian Macsai, MD; Northbrook, IL
• Director/ISEPS President - Nina Goyal, MD; Burr Ridge, IL

The Foundation is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Accordingly, donations to the IGOF are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.  (Be sure to consult your tax adviser for details about tax deductions.)

Programs

The directors are developing a number of programs for support by the IGOF.  We anticipate continuing our partnership with our colleague, Nguyen Xuan Tam in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam and his NGO, the Community Development Fund.  Additional projects will be considered as further details become available.

In 2023, we established the Ronald C. May Fund in honor of Dr May.  The purpose of this fund is to support a project which enhances training opportunities for ophthalmologists (details to be announced).  Donations specified for this fund will be set aside for this new program.

Donations

IGOF is grateful to receive donations from interested individuals or corporate entities.  Please use the donation forms listed below to facilitate your contribution.  Donations typically are for general use as determined by the IGOF board of directors.  However, if you wish to make a restricted contribution, please indicate that on the donation form.  Be as specific as possible if you want to direct your contribution to a particular program or recipient.  (Note - IGOF reserves the right to decline any restricted donation.)
